Trump and Putin Begin Negotiations to End War in Ukraine in ‘Bombshell’ Phone Call

Donald Trump has confirmed that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin have taken a major step toward ending the war in Ukraine, following a breakthrough phone call between the two leaders.

During the 90-minute conversation on Wednesday, Trump and Putin reportedly laid the groundwork for historic US-Russia summits, signaling a shift in diplomatic relations.

Trump announced the development on Truth Social, emphasizing that the war had gone on for far too long and that negotiations were essential. He also revealed that both he and Putin expressed interest in visiting each other’s nations soon—potentially making Trump the first American leader to visit Russia since Barack Obama in 2013.

The former president stated that the goal of these discussions is to halt the devastating loss of life in Ukraine. He also joked about Putin’s remarks on the matter, saying that ending the war was simply “common sense.”

Trump reiterated that this was not just about resolving the Ukraine conflict but also about strengthening ties between Russia and the US. The phone call is being hailed as a pivotal moment in global diplomacy, sparking speculation about what comes next.
