Justin Bieber was spotted sharing a smoke with comedian Dave Chappelle in West Hollywood in the early hours of Saturday morning. The 30-year-old singer, who appeared disheveled while arriving at Barney’s Beanery on Friday night, was later photographed chatting with the 51-year-old comic outside the same venue.
While it’s unclear what Bieber was smoking, he was seen exhaling a thick cloud of smoke in the outdoor seating area of the well-known celebrity hotspot.
Hailey Bieber Absent from Late-Night Outing
Noticeably missing from the night out was Justin’s wife, Hailey Bieber.
Speculation about the couple’s relationship has been swirling in recent months, with sources telling DailyMail.com that Justin has been exhibiting “unacceptable” behavior and acting like a “loose cannon.”
For the outing, Justin sported a dark green zip-up hoodie, oversized blue jeans, and tan suede shoes with a diamond pattern. He completed the look with a green-and-white striped beanie, rolled up at an angle in an unconventional style. His usually unkempt facial hair was trimmed down to a mustache with light stubble.
Chappelle, dressed in a plaid jacket, appeared deep in conversation with Bieber. Neither showed much levity, with Justin looking particularly somber aside from the moments when he exhaled smoke.
A Friendship Spanning Years
Justin and Dave have maintained a friendship for years, making headlines in 2021 when they traveled to Minneapolis for screenings of Dave Chappelle: Live in Real Life, a documentary directed by award-winning filmmakers Steve Bognar and Julia Reichert.
During their visit, they surprised fans by dining at a local Vietnamese restaurant. Later, Chappelle hosted a special event featuring a documentary screening and a stand-up session, which ended with Bieber taking the stage for a four-song mini-set. The night became even more memorable when Usher joined him for additional performances.
Growing Tensions in the Bieber Marriage
Justin’s night out came just hours before he was involved in a tense exchange with a paparazzo while heading to breakfast with Hailey on Saturday morning.
According to a source who spoke with DailyMail.com, Hailey has been focused on work while Justin spends much of his time “chilling with friends” or staying home with their baby son. Fans have raised concerns about their relationship, particularly due to their serious expressions during public outings.
“Hailey’s been struggling with Justin almost since the start of their marriage,” an insider revealed. “She loves him madly, but he’s a loose cannon. Some of her friends have even encouraged her to leave him.”
The source added that those close to Hailey had hoped fatherhood would bring stability to Justin, but they don’t believe it has had a lasting effect.
“When the baby was born, he was there for her, and she thought being a father would change him for the better—but it hasn’t stuck,” they claimed.
Social Media Stirring Speculation
Fans became suspicious in January when Justin unfollowed his father-in-law, Stephen Baldwin, on Instagram. Speculation intensified when it appeared he had also unfollowed Hailey, though he later denied this, claiming his account had been hacked.
“Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife,” Justin wrote in an Instagram Story. “S*** getting suss out here.”
Concerns over Justin’s well-being have also grown due to his past association with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing multiple sexual misconduct lawsuits and federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges—allegations Diddy has denied.
Separate Outings and Reclusive Behavior
Adding to the speculation, Justin and Hailey were recently spotted at the same New York restaurant—just not together. Hailey dined at Bar Pitti alone in the late afternoon, leaving around 4:30 p.m. Justin arrived about 30 minutes later with a group of friends and left the restaurant solo later that evening.
Sources close to the couple told DailyMail.com that Justin has become increasingly withdrawn, describing him as “borderline reclusive” and struggling with a “deep fear” of being in large crowds. This anxiety, they claim, is one of the reasons he has avoided touring for so long.
