A devastated father was heard screaming in agony after realizing his 15-month-old daughter had died inside his vehicle after being left there for the entire day, according to a witness.
Roy Gomes, who was mowing his lawn nearby, recalled the chilling cries that followed the tragic discovery.
“I heard screaming and ran out to see what had happened,” said Gomes, whose home is next to Jelly Beings Early Learning Center in Earlwood, Sydney’s inner west.
The father had arrived at the daycare to pick up his daughter when he found her lifeless in the back of his car. In a desperate attempt to save her, he tried everything he could, but it was too late.
Authorities believe the child was accidentally left inside the vehicle throughout the day, leading to the unimaginable tragedy.
The grieving father, overwhelmed with sorrow, expressed disbelief over how one tragic mistake had shattered his family. “The pain will remain in my heart forever,” he said.
