Trisha Yearwood has successfully sold her historic Tennessee manor, the location where she filmed 11 seasons of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen. The Brentwood, Tennessee residence sold for $3.34 million, just a day before a lawsuit was filed accusing her husband, Garth Brooks, of sexual assault and rape.
Initially listed at $4.5 million in 2023, Yearwood later withdrew the property from the market and reduced the price before finalizing the sale. She had owned the 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom, 6,553-square-foot estate since 2000, and over 100 episodes of her cooking show were filmed in its well-equipped kitchen, featuring high-end Wolf appliances, including a double oven, six-burner cooktop, warming drawer, a 30-inch gourmet microwave, and a subzero refrigerator.
According to Realtor.com, the sale was completed on Wednesday, October 2.
What Are the Allegations Against Garth Brooks?
The following day, on October 3, a lawsuit was filed by “Jane Roe” in California, accusing Garth Brooks of sexual assault and battery. Roe, a former makeup and hair artist for both Brooks and Yearwood, claims she was subjected to numerous unwanted sexual advances and fondlings. She alleges that in 2019, Brooks forced penetration in a hotel room.
Prior to the public disclosure of her lawsuit, Brooks’ legal team had filed a motion to allow him to proceed pseudonymously in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi Northern Division, where Roe resides. He aimed to prevent Roe from filing or to have the case continue under “John Doe” and “Jane Doe” pseudonyms, stating that the intent behind the anonymity was to combat extortion and defamation of character.
“I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be,” Brooks stated in a media release.
