The famous woke bishop Mariann Budde who made headlines for delivering a sermon that asked President Trump to rethink his policies and have mercy on Americans including immigrants is now breaking her silence.
Budde was accused by Trump and many other Pro-Republicans of using the National Prayer Service on Inauguration Day to berate Trump with a political lecture.
She said it was a one-on-one conversation that she felt she needed to have before it was too late. Since then, she has gone viral for rebuking the inaugural sermon with her very controversial speech.
That’s because she felt the new president displayed trans kids and illegal migrants in the harshest of lights.
The left-wing Bishop of Washington explained to CNN that it was indeed true that her sermon was solely directed at Trump. She added how she needed to remind him and his administration of the many frightened people in the nation.
‘Every person is a human being and deserves to be treated fairly’- she continued. She also mentioned how Trump’s portraying minorities in the harshest of lights during his campaign was not right.
‘I wished to counter him, as gently as I could. I wanted to remind him that humanity must continue to exist and that everyone has a place in this community- she added.
The incident has left a bitter taste in many people’s minds including Pro-Trump supporters who blasted her for the actions and demanded Trump deport her. Meanwhile, the president himself has expressed his disbelief, shock, and anger at how she mixed politics with religion.
